Can someone link to an advanced rapid posing tutorial for DAZ?

Guys, it turns out my G8F was broken. The posing is fine and I was able to make poses fast like in Poser. I had to laod my cahracter onto a new G8F and the posing frustrations went away. The details are here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/389406/i-don-t-understand-how-to-use-pins-properly-when-posing-solved#latest
Can someone link to an advanced rapid posing tutorial for DAZ?
I can't quite get used to the idea of pinning, locking and rapidly posing. Does anyone know of an advanced video tutorial that shows a workflow for rapidly pinning, locking, and posing in DAZ using translate and rotate tools, plus demonstrating knowledge of how to use IK off AND on.
Basically I need to see a video of someone rapidly posing Genesis 8 like a pro, with absolute precision, using IK on or off, using the translate and rotate tools, preferably with hands and feet interacting with other objects.
I'm slowly getting used to it, but if I could just see a pro do it, it'll save me tons of time.

This isn't exactly "rapid posing" but you can always increase the speed of the video if you want since it's youtube. It covers pinning/locking posing with 4 methods (activpose, parameter sliders, powerpose and puppeteer mode):

Posing isn't a quick task, unless a preset does exactly what you want.
Space bar is useful for pinning btw, if you have the pose tool selected.
I use a combination of Power Pose and the Parameters tab for adjusting sliders when I have something selected
Actually it is. I can create a complex pose in Poser in 4-5 minutes tops. In DAZ it takes about 20-30 minutes so far. This is a major problem. I need to figure this out asap. I'm trying to increase my speed, but DAZ lacks precision. Without precision of moving the hand precisely on the x,y,z, it's very difficult to pose, and the viewport lags. Poser's viewport doesn't lag while posing. I'm on an i7, 32gb ram, SSD, gtx 980. Neither activepose nor translate pose with pinning is as good as Poser.
He actually made a pose where the guy does a hand stand, meaning the hand is flat on the ground, but HE doesn't show you how he made it, lol. That video could've been good had he shown how he made the actual pose from start to finish. He doesn't actually make a complete pose from start to finish.
Other than that video, there is no DAZ posing tutorials where the guy makes a complex pose from start to finish. By complex pose, I mean the hands interacting with things. Imagine G8F pushing her hands against a wall or something, or lifting something, where the hands and feet all have perfect contact. Such a tutorial doesn't exist because DAZ posing seems to be a mystery of trial and error, without a proepr workflow or methodology.
I'm considering Posing Genesis 2 in Poser. Make the final pose in 5 minutes. Then convert that pose to Genesis 8. That would be faster than making the Pose in DAZ, but I dont' think the conversion would be precise enough, and the hands and feet might be bent slightly after the conversion.
Is "select specific bone in scene hierarchy tab and then change translation x/y/z and rotation x/y/z settings of that chosen bone in parameters tab, then select other bone and repeat process" too long and slow workflow? I usually do it like that, with sliders/numerique numbers, instead of selecting and moving in viewport or powerpose tool.
It turns out that my G8F was broken. I loaded a new G8F and the posing problems went away.
Don't select the hip, and all of it's children, followed by Turning off Limits via the menu, or it causes major problems with moving the hand via translation. I still haven't figured out why it happens nor how to fix it without loading a new G8F.
Hm, interesting. Would keep in mind, if encounter something similar.
If you're still looking for a tutorial, there is one here in the store thanks to the hard work and encouragement of the folks at DigitalArtLive: Powerful Poses.
We walked through setting up poses from start to finish, and did go over some tips for getting hands to interact with other objects in a believable manner. The What's Included section on the store page has everything the video covers broken down by timestamp, so if you look through that it might be a good way to see if the information you're looking for is in there.
That's exactly what I was looking for. Those poses are what I consider complex.
I'd say 95% of DAZ users neglect the hands and never pose them right, which ist he most important part of establishing a feeling of connection with the viewer. You did all the hands perfectly here! nice!
So, now that you know that your G8F was broken (glad you got that sorted), what is your opinion of Daz Studio posing versus Poser?
DAZ is far superior because I can pin and keep body parts in place. There's no pinning in Poser. DAZ beats Poser in every department pretty much except animation I think.
I'm so relieved. I thought i was going to be screwed on the posing.
I'm so glad it's all working out for you. If Daz had the line render that Poser has, I never would've bought Poser.
These two can also be very helpful:
Ultimate Pose Master - https://www.daz3d.com/catalog/product/view/id/062917
Ultimate Pose Mixer - https://www.daz3d.com/catalog/product/view/id/053343
Omg, this should be in Poser by default. I prefer to translate hand and feet movement with numeric values or a slider rather than the mouse. Thank you. This is VERY helpful.
This is pure win:
You should probably let them know over at Renderosity, as they now own Poser.
Poser is so far behind that it has no hopes of ever competing with DAZ Studio.
I have not used Daz Studio for 9+ years. I would like to get back to using it to pose 3D models as reference for sketching and drawing. For which version of Daz Studio is this video training (Powerful Poses : How to Create Dynamic Pose Sets)?
Judging from the screenshots, DS 4.10 has been used for preparing.
@Mark_e593e0a5 Has much changed in the posing UI since then?
EDIT: It looks like Daz Studio 4.10 was released 4 years ago: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/206696/daz-studio-4-10-pro-general-release-updated/p1.
UI seems to be still the same, just judging from the screenshots. I am working with DS since version 4.12, and nothing has changed much from 4.12 to 4.15
Cool!. Thanks very much. It's on my buy list now.
