What happened to the zebra?

    All of this reminds me, What becomes of content that is no longer in the store? I have seen references to an archive but they are not any good. And if my old content becomes obsolete and I need to reload because of a new computer or a crash, is it just lost forever? And if there is a magical land of former Daz content, Does IM still support it?

    Any product you buy from DAZ will always be in your Product Library, even if the product is pulled/retired/purged from the DAZ Store and is no longer available for purchase.  I bought the Safari Starter Bundle, which included the Zebra (SKU 340) back in March 2009 and the animals in the bundle are available in my product library and downloadable from DIM and DAZ Connect.

    if you bought it from DAZ you can download it

    that archive was a collection of free stuff one did not have to sign in to download they did not carry over to the new site

    also there used to be a collection of PC+ freebies they discontinued 

    looking at your join date this was literally years before probably 7

    That's a common myth. They can see about 50.

    Welllll - to comfort us they added two clothings to Fastgrab that have black and white stripes - one is even called Fifty fifty (for wiz ? LOL), the other has zebra stripes ...

    lucky daz isn't like it used to be. Many years ago maybe daz 2? when first looked you could only download a product 4 or 6 times think after that you had to rebuy

    Maybe they slaughtered the Zebra and used the skin for the textures for these...

    If it's a legal or copyright problem I guess the mods might have done it of course, that's part of their job I guess, but I haven't seen any mention of what the problem was.

    I've been here since I think about DS 1.something and I don't remember that at all.

    You didn't have to rebuy, just ask Daz to reset the downloads so you had more attempts.

    I haven't checked, but my recollection is that the old zebra has a very basic UV mapping so it may simply be quality that led to its removal.

    Hi Wendy and sorry for resurecting an old thread, but I thought I'd let you know I'd downloaded your Zebra textures and did a quick render using them.

    I've not altered the horse at all (yet) so the render isn't finished, but just wanted to say I really appreciate the work you've done and thanks for making it available. heart

    I would have hoped with Horsw 3 someone like Hypertaf would have done a decent zebra by now

    The 3D zebra was created by Debra Ross aka SilverKey. There are somevremaining products of hers on still available on DAZ

    Giraffe
    Fawn
    Monkey
    Bat
    Pronghorn Antelope

    and more, but no Zebra shows in google search results for Debra Ross SilverKey or under Poser products
