Iray Distance Mist Questions

Does anyone know of a good tutorial for the, "Iray Distance Mist" product sold in the DAZ Studio shop?
My main question is, is there a way to delete rings so you only have one ring?
I know I can hide the others, but the geometry is still there, and it takes up valuable ram resources.
I wish I could just work with one fog ring at a time. And if I need a second instance of a fog ring that may crisscross another ring, I need to add two entire set of rings with several hidden.
I would just like little patches of fog that I can place here and there sort of like springs of grass.
I love the fog and atmosphere system of Iray Distance Mist and I am glad I bought it
yet, it seems overkill sometimes considering it is one massive unit that I can't seem to figure out how to break into parts other than bringing it into blender and trying to chop it up there.
The fog in Iray Distance Mist is probably the best fog out there. It is just a resource hog when most of the unit is out of the scene.
Main question, is there a way in DAZ to delete say, the near and far rings entirely from the scene?
Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Hidden bones are not sent to the render engine, as I said in reply to your other post. You coudl always try applying the materials to one or more cylinder presets.
