How do I use dForce with primitives and figures?

I purchased "dForce Tutorial Set : Fantastic Voyage!" and tried to recreate the examples shown (making a cave, skin indentation), but when I click 'simulate' in the simulation settings tab, it tells me there are no objects to simulate.  I'm pretty sure I followed all the steps in the videos.

For the skin indentation, I loaded a G3 figure and a primitive sphere from the create tab. I made a 30-frame animation sequence in which the sphere moves into the figure's body, exactly like the presenter did.  Still it tells me there is nothing to simulate.

You need to add a dForce modifier. The attached shows the most basic way.

  • Hmm... I don't seem to have that option in the dropdown list.

  • I found the option to add a dForce modifier in a different location (The button with the lines right next to Simulate), but now the program crashes whenever I try to simulate it.

    Try this simple experiment.

    Create two primtives

    1) a plane with lotas of subdivisions, 200 at least.

    2) a cube or sphere. Place it below the plane.

put a shader on each, contrasting colors are best.

Select the plane add a dForce modifier:Dynamic Surface

Simulate. If produces an effect of a sheet on top of a table, or ball, then you've done it right.

If that doesn't work then you might have an issue in your settings or computer that need to be worked on.
