Frequent slowdown

I frequently experience slowdown in Daz when doing spot renders, opening scenes, or even loading new elements into a scene. Sometimes Daz will enter a period of "Not responding" in Task Manager, despite CPU and Memory being under 25% and Disk being in single digits. Other times, CPU or Disk (or, infrequently, both) will max or near max. Today I experienced yet another variation—while trying to open a single scene (five characters, an obj, and a ground environment), it started trying to open at around 20% Memory (negligible CPU and Disk) and maxed around 70% Memory, before finally opening the scene more than ten minutes later.
I have an Intel Core i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz, 32 GB of RAM, a Radeon RX 580 GPU, and an MPG Z390 Gaming Plus MOBO. I am not in any way a tech person, but my various tech people (both friends and the people who installed the GPU and MOBO) tell me this should be more than enough to handle Daz. All of this is to say, does anyone have any idea why a system with mine's specifications is having so much trouble?

What rpm is your HDD? When was the last time you defraged the drive?
HDD is 7200 RPM. It's set to optimize automatically every week.
Then you might have an issue with how many assets you have. Do you have thousands of assets in your library?
As of today, 1,728.
Then you're likely dealing with some DS weirdness or a specific file with some issue. You might want to check the log after the next one of those super long loads to see if DS reports any problems.
