Morph does not update

[Morph does not update] usual way (set rigging, freeze, then save as a new morph asset). I usually delete the previous morph character (or, actually, save it as a "backup", since this never works). The character that I use to make these modifications looks great - just what I want. But when I export then load as described above, the character that I apply the updated morph to does not change - it remains exactly the same as before I made the changes. I know I must be making some obvious mistakes that everyone knows how to avoid but in all my search of the forums (DAZ forum search feature isn't very good) and Google, I haven't found anything. Please help!

I have been trying to update a character. I modify the morph, then update the character in the usual way (set rigging, freeze, then save as a new morph asset). You mention that you've been keeping the old one as backup, did you give the updated morph a new name? If not that could be the problem. All morphs have to have individual names.
Same question: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/390346/morph-does-not-update
No, I always give the new morphs a different name.
Well, almost always. But the latest example is completely by a new name!
Well for the ones you didn't, one closes D/S and digs through the data folders to remove the outdated morph. Then the new morph should load.
Thank you, Catherine! I have been doing that. I have backed up-to-data files, but always make new es for my updates.
Identical threads merged.
When you are attempting to load your new/updated morph and failing, have you had the same instance of DAZ Studio running throughout the process? (i.e. same scene open). If so, the problem may be that DS is using information stored in the temp folder that has not been updated - this is purely a guess, but can be easily verified by simply closing DS and then re-opening it. Do your updated morphs work correctly then?
Also, when you export your new/updated morph (presumably to an object file?), then load it (presumably using Morph Loader Pro?) on a new figure, does the window indicate that the morph was created succesfully? If yes, did you go to the Parameters tab and locate the morph, moving the slider to 100%. If not, that is why the morph is not showing on your figure - it will create a slider for the morph set at 0% by default. Of course, you must then save the morph as you describe.
After I export out the changed morphs (head and body), yes, I close DS, re-open and load a new G8. Then I load in the updated morphs with morph loader, rig them and freeze them, then save them as morph asset. They look right on this iteration of G8, but if I open an old scene and load the updated morph onto it, it looks exactly the same as before.
Oh, the old scene would have an 'old' G8, delete it from the scene and add a fresh G8. Morph should then show. Save the new scene.
n.b. Not the best of ideas to be saving scenes with unfinished creations in them ;-) [although this problem can also show with regards to any new morph purchases not showing for old scene figures - read something about this a long time ago]
Thank you, Catherine. I'm sure you are correct. I did not realize that my character creation could not be more easily "updated". This character has been an evolution and the updated changes are minimal but significant. I wad finally able to update the character in old scenes by (after deleting all older versions) "zero figure shape" then loading the new morph. Again, I appreciate the advice.
So, I am working this issue and found a short-term solution. These "old" scenes with a previous morph CAN be updated and work by deleting the old morph and loading the new one. As long as I don't rig it or anything, it works as it should in that scene.
