"Enter" key not working anymore when saving a render

Hello,

I apologize in advance if the issue has already been reported somewhere but I've been searching for a good hour an answer on the Internet and didn't find anything satisfying.

It's been a few days since I've been unable to use the "enter" key after a rendering has finished. Usually after writing the name in the corresponding field, pressing enter = clicking on save like on most software. And yet, now whenever I press enter, the arrow of my cursor turns into that red circle (see attachment). If I press enter again, it turns back to an arrow and vice versa. It's kinda making me mad cause when you're rendering quick things, taking the mouse back to click manually on save feels like going back to the stone age.

I already saw about using the Save Last render shortcut through F3 but it doesn't solve the problem, it's just a work around that adds an extra step. Is there a way to make it work back normally?

Thanks

  • Not sure when the change may have happened, but in 4.12, the "what's this..."(question mark) button is active by default in any popout windows, including the render window.

So when you press the Enter key, it activates the "what's this..." button. Even if it's not highlighted.

The easiest work around i can give you is to type the name of the image file in the "Image name" box under Render settings>general, then when the render is done, you just need to press the save key.

Or, press the tab key 9 times to get to the save button.

I'll do some checking with older versions, when i get back to the office, but i don't think pressing the enter button to save an image has been default in a few versions now.

This is, at least with respect to dialogues, fixed in the current Public Build.

Ah indeed, it's the "what's this" button activating. But strangely enough I felt like it was still working on my side like last week frown (pressing enter after entering the name that is)

The current Public Build is 4.12.0.86, right? (that's the one I have and Daz Manager don't tell me to update it). Is it possible that it's a conflict with the beta build? (I have both installed on my PC). Also, sorry but what do you mean by "respect to dialogues"?
