Need Help Importing Mesh into Daz3D from Blender

Hello everyone,
I hope all of you are doing good. I wanted to talk about a problem I encountered while importing an obj file into Daz3D from Blender 2.81.
I made some objects in Blender to import into Daz3D. I exported it from Blender as an obj file, but when I import it into Daz3D, the mesh deforms, joining vertices that were not joined when exporting. I thought it was an export issue but when I checked the obj file, it was fine, the mesh looked okay when I re-imported the obj file back into Blender.
But importing it to Daz3D deforms it. Just to make it clear, I'll include the wireframe screenshots of my mesh. I even tried it with other objects I made in Blender, the same issue every time.

I thought maybe Daz3D triangulates faces, probably to fix ngons (An ngon is a face or polygon that is made up of five or more sides or edges connected by five or more vertices. Anything over a quad (4 sides) is considered an ngon.),  So I triangulated my mesh, making sure there were no ngons present, and re-imported it to Daz3D, well, if it worked, I obviously wouldn't be here XD. So yea, it didn't work, I checked for double vertices, non-manifolds, UV's, normal corrections, even though I knew it wouldn't be a "normal issue".

At this point, I don't know what else to do other than ask for help. If somebody knows how to fix this, your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time, I'm new to Daz3D and 3D modeling, I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to post this here. If this is a mistake, I apologize, and once again, thanks for taking the time.
Have a great day, or night, wherever you're from. XD

Have you tried opening the OBJ file in something else? Hexagon, free in the store, for example. Would you be willing to post the OBJ for others to check?

  • My first thought was that you have some modifiers in place in Blender that aren't being applied when you export the object, but you say that the OBJ file imports back into Blender correctly, so that suggests that's not the problem.

Have you used curves in the modeling, which haven't been converted to a mesh before export?

What options are you using in the export from Blender and the import into DS?  In particular, are you selecting the 'Keep Vertex Order' option on export from Blender?

Ultimately, I think the OBJ file, the .blend file, or preferrably both may be required to diagnose your problem.

  • D/S is 'correcting' the mesh to its way of handling mesh. All those dots on the curve need to have lines drawn from them to join with the other dots.

We really can't tell what's wrong with it unless you post a link to the file.  A guess is just a guess.
