when saving from animation to png can i set it to lesser frames?

Hello again, i made a 3 second animation and when saving it as png it says 0-70 in the render range which i assume means it will take 70 frames. Can i set it to somehow take 3 or 5 png images? Is this possible?

If you want that few frames it would probably be best to do single renders of the desird frames - more flexible, too, as you may not want equally-spaced frames.

Just set the render type to single frame, in the Editor tab of Render Settings under the General group, and set the current frame to the one you want to render.
