Instances Preview?

Is there anyway to show the instances in the preview window without using iray preview?

    Currently im playing around with UltraScenery but previously I was using Willow Creek.  On certain camera positions I had gotten behind trees that were in the way and the only way to be able to figure out which ones were in the way was to turn on iray preview which at this current time my computer does not like.  I can run it for a minute before it causes a crash.  So what ive been doing is hiding various things then render and repeat until I find the offending instances, it gets pretty tedious.

    Check the instances setting :Visible in viewport under Display in the Parameters tab.

    While i don't have the ultrascenery, i did see this in willow creek by stonemason. I think all the ViV of the instances were turned off.

    Thank you!!!  All of them are off for the most part frown. But thats ok it gives me a start point.
