4.12 timeline changes and select children/all crashes

Is there any way to customise the timeline to something as close to 4.11? I work with many frames at a time (i.e. 2-3k) and the new 4.12 timeline doesn't quite cut it. The basic view removes critical features like key creation/deletion/skipping and hotkeying deletion doesn't help since it won't delete the black triangle indicators on the affected frames. The intermediate view doesn't display keys at all (i.e. the whole timeline remains blank so I don't know where changes have been made).
While the advanced view looked really neat and precise at first, it gets cluttered up real quick and once it does left or right clicking anywhere in the timeline crashes Daz. Crashing also occurs when I select a dozen or more things at once - i.e. select children / select all - in the viewport.
Please help

Is this n the general release or the Public Build?
Apologies. What is the difference between general release or public build? I installed only what was available on the installer.
The Public Build is the beta, so you would know if you were using that - it's a separate (free) item in the store. The Public Build does incorporate quite a few chnages to the Timeline, so it may be worth checking that https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta
