Mesh Grabber Installation

Hello,

I purchased mesh grabber today and installed it with the install manager.  However, it is not in Daz Studio.  I checked my C: drive and it shows the files but the product is not in Daz as a plug-in.  Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

  • Do you have Daz 4.12? It will not install on earlier edition of Daz

I believe that you need to go to Help>About Installed plug-ins, enter your Mesh Grabber serial number (right-click on its entry in DIM, or go to yoru serial number page https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/serialnumbers ) in the box for Mesh Grabber, and restart DS.

I believe that there is something wrong with the installer as I found the new version of the MF_meshgrab.dll installed in: "My DAZ 3D library:DAZ Studio_4.5;4.x Public Build;4.x Private Build_(64-Bit):plugins". The old version was removed from the plugins folder in C:Program Files:DAZ 3D:DAZStudio4:plugins. I copied the new version to the same location and it seems to work now.

Thank you, I'll try your suggestions.  I do have Daz 4.12...  I have the newest download managaer, so my system should take mesh grabber just fine.  Excited to use it!

So, my Daz Studio does not have mesh grabber listed in the "about plug-ins".  Also when I go to my Daz serial number listings, it is not there either.  In DIM the serial number option is hazed out and not selectable.  What the heck is going on?  I bought the program...???

Thank you!  My files were also in "My DAS 3D library: Daz Studio"...  I moved it to the plug in folder and now it is in Daz Studio!  I'll play around with it to see if it works, but at least it is in the program now!  Thanks again!

Me too! Trying to find out if 4.12 will save the Gen X morphs I've loaded onto Genesis figure, or if I have to start from scratch though

My mesh grabber has also vanished, I can confirm I purchased it and have even an order #. Yet, its not in any of my drop downs, tools, and doesnt show in my products.

I dont have a serial number for it either listed in my serial options for the account.

Ditto here.  Had it installed & did a quick test with it a couple weeks ago. So, there must have been an errant update.

Might we assume that all of this can be considered a report & that corrections are already in the works?  Or do dozens of users need to send in reports to an already overwhelmed Tech Support?

Well, no wonder.  Look at the path the installation creates with commas & semicolons...

    D:\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\DAZ Studio_4.5;4.x Public Build;4.x Private Build_(64-Bit)\plugins\MF_meshgrab.dll

Obviously, some steps were skipped in the final testing phase.

The update has been packaged as Content, not a Plugin, and gets installed as such. Compare the contents of the package to any other plugin and you will see the difference. Needs a do-over...

ETA: See the commercial thread for a workaround to get it working.

Thanks NorthOf.  Should have thought of that myself, but found the info cited ...

Will deal with that a bit later today.

Unfortunately the new version in DIM does not work for me. I also tried using the "Manual Download" option in my Product Library and it downloads an executable. Running the executable does not install the latest version. The executable runs, but it just installs V1.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing and it installs V1. The new dll was not placed anywhere in "MY DAZ 3D Library" (as happened for some of the other users).

At least I still have the old version. I just can't get the new version to install. It kinda looks like my DIM is pointing to a web server that still has an older version of Mesh Grabber.

Apologies for posting in two different threads.

  • Got everything up and running and been playing around with it. It may not be perfect, but it is a POWERFUL tool, oh my goodness. Easy to learn and use. Fantastic function.
