What version should I use?

Very confused.  As a new user should I use 8, 3 or 2?  I get that the older versions have more content.  I have all of them installed so I think part of my confusion is having a little of everything, but when I uninstall 2 and 3 as an example, their content is still there (albeit uninstalled)...very confusing to try and navigate.  Just a hobbiest.

Going by the numbers I guess you mean Genesis? Uninstalling the Starter Essentials won't uninstall separate products (for one thing some items, such as clothes/hair, can be used with later fgures via conversion with the supplied tools and many others, such as morphs as character shapes, can be converted with add-on tools). I wouldn't assume older equals more content - Genesis 8 has had a longer run as the latest than the others, and I think Genesis 3 enjoyed more support than Genesis 2, though there are certainly niche tems that are unique to oen geneation (barring conversion).

You can use them all! Each have their own pros and cons.
