AutoFit doesn't work anymore
![Anglu](https://farnsworth-prod.uc.r.appspot.com/forums/uploads/userpics/310/n1DPFVZFZZLA5.jpg)
It started when I first installed 4.11 when it came out. I didn't have time for 3D until now so that's why I'm asking this question this late.
Back with 4.10 I was able to dress each Generation of Genesis in the previous versions clothes, also could switch male and female stuff. Yeah, guess thats how AutoFit was sopposed to work.
After I Installed 4.11 this stopped working. All clothes are mared as unsupported now and I can't even specify the type of clothing. Not even switching among the same generation works anymore.
I even tried to go back to 4.10 (I always keep the installers), but that didn't help.
So, how can I make Autofit to support the previous generations again?
Comments
Yes, autofit has definately had a degredation with the quality of it's resulting fits with Genesis 8. I was expecting fixes that never came.
It's not just bad quality with G8, it doesn't seem to work at all.
I mean, the clothes conform and follow the movement, yes, but they don't actually fit...
Is the Content Management System working? Do you have entries in the Categories list in the Content Library, or in Smart Content?
If you are speaking of the arms and/or legs portions not fitting between any of the Genesis' wardrobles with G8, try my auto-fit clones [link in signature].
As far as I can tell Content management still is fine, but the folders in the Categories list are empty and I never used Smart Content - usually I work offline.
I'll check it out, but the problem isn't just G8, it's ALL Genesis. AutoFit simply adapts the bones (rigging) but not the shape.
As Richard mentions, CMS has to be working for autofit to work properly.
I find converting one step at a time works better. For example Genesis to G2, save conversion, remove from scene, load newly converted item to autofit to G3, save that converted item, remove from scene, load that newly converted item to autofit to G8.
That's how I used to do it XD
Unfortunately that's exactly what doesn't work anymore.
So... how can I check if CMS is working propperly?
Info from the HelpDesk page:
"Q: How do I know if Daz Install Manager/Daz Studio is using the PostgreSQL CMS?
A: In the log file for both Daz Studio and Daz Install Manager there will be a line that says:
"Connected to CMS: PostgreSQL 9.3.4" if PostgreSQL is being used.
To view the Daz Studio log, go to Help -> Troubleshooting -> View Log File."
When you first open D/S might want to first select 'all' the info in that log file and delete it, save. Close D/S and then open D/S. Hopefully the log file won't be too many pages long and that line can be found.
I'm not the expert for that feature, for me, if it's not working right, I manually download it from My Product Library and install it again. Having said that, once D/S and this feature is installed and everything is running, it normally stays running as it should be.
Sorry, to interrupt. How do you save the "autofit"?
so if I go from g1 to g2. then how do I save this so I can go g2 to g3. I video link might be useful. (Also what product do I need so I can auto fit g1 gloves to g3 female?)
What I really need is "rubber" gloves (clear preferred). hospital gloves. If anyone knows of a product or freebie that would work. that would fix my actual problem.
Save the converted outfit as a figure asset.
This product will give you a G1 clone for G3F: https://www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-autofitting-clones-and-clothing-smoothers-for-genesis-3-female-s
Thanks figure asset was exactly what I needed.
Alright, I checked the log - only the last two days, because that IS much - and each time I started D|S it does say "Connected to CMS: PostgreSQL 9.3.4".
So, what am I supposed to do now, delete that line (how often?) or delete the whole log file?
The idea with deleting info in the log file was simply to have an empty one when you start DS so t was easier to check if the "connected to CMS" line was present.
If you get a Smart Content listing of your installed products when you start DAZ Studio CMS is running & been connected too.
Okay, so we can sort this out as the problem, since the line is present and I get Smart Content when I work online.
Now, what else could cause this?
Would need more information.
I'm working in 4.12 {need for dForce, etc.} and autofit [so far] has been working for me.
If you apply a solid coloured shader to the figure model and try loading something we all have, like basic wear and post some screen shots, maybe the problem will become apparent to somebody.
So, here's G3F tying to wear a dress for G2F.
This is D|A Version 4.12.0.86 (thes installes was labelled 4.11 for some reason...)
At least G2F, G2M and G3M should be listed as supported...
oh, by the way, I digged out other versions, so I have D|S 4.9, 4.10 and 4.12 installed in different folders, all with the same problem, so I guess it*s not the application itself, more something about the additional data...
Have you tried reinstalling the base figures?
Hm, no, could try
Um, you forgot to apply the solid colour shader first ;-)
Yes hopefully reinstalling the base figures will get their autofit clones reappearing.
For ? reasons, sometimes rebooting the computer helps D/S find all its parts.
