Lack Of Cross-Compatibility

One thing that I really hate about DAZ is that there seems to be a lack of cross-compatibility between characters. Perhaps I am misunderstanding how to use the program. For example, an outfit for M4 seems to work fine for M5, but try to put it on Rodrigo, and forget it.

Ditto with eye color. One would think that cross-compatibility with eye color would be a simple matter. But if I have already purchased files with dark eye colors, I can't easily place those eyes on another character.

I don't mean to complain, but I want to gain a perspective from the rest of the community.

I have the Sims 3 game on my computer also. Granted these programs are different and intended with a different purpose, but when I buy a new hairdo or outfit for a male Sim, it is cross-compatible across every character in the game. (The only reason I don't use Sims instead is because of copyright issues.)

Perhaps there are technical limitations that I do not understand. After all, the Sims analogy might fail due to the fact that there are different generations of that game, and DAZ has different generations for the characters as well.

But if that is the case, then simple packages for things like skin, hair, and eye color ought to be readily available for a reasonable price.

I bought a few products to make Native American characters, but they simply do not work on the same character. I have a European-looking character with Native American clothes, and a Native American character who is almost naked, both bald, neither what I am trying to create.

If you can AutoFit an outfit to one figure, you can then AutoFit that to a later fiogure (for example Genesis 2 Male has a Genesis AutoFit clone). Maps will carry over to other base figures with the same UVs, and there are tools for using maps from figures with dfferent UVs.
