organizing morphs

Hi!

How do you guys organize your morphs?

I spend a few hours in parameters edit-mode and created folders... just to find out that they where not saved :/

How can I save those custom categories?

And is there any faster way of organizing the morphs? ...because even the mentioned method takes quite some time...

Thanks!

    Save a Character preset and use that to load the figure (applying it to a loaded figure won't do anything).

    If you are trying to reposition purchased morphs I don't think that is a good idea. Many morphs are 'joined' with other morphs and one can really make a mess.

    If you are speaking of repositioning morphs [in the "Regions" and "Groups"] you have made, you have to then save them again to the SAME folders you had them saved to before. {letting the new overwrite the old}

    Edited to clarify.

    First off they aren't "folders", they are "Regions" and "Groups", in the Parameters tab all of the ones with an icon are Regions (Actor, Head, Hip etc), the rest should have a G for Groups.

    That info is coded into the DSF asset files, so there are only two ways to change them, either edit the pathways as you are and then using "File > Save As > Support Asset > Save Modified Assets" to replace the existing files with new ones with your changes in them, or manually edit them in a text editor.

    Small tip, if you don't place them under a Region then they wont show up in the Shaping tab, which means you will have made an @$$ of your morphs, only special morphs should be outside the Regions ie things like clones and JCMs as they are usually under "Hidden".

    Good tip but the lawn's a little long ... not everybody wants all morphs for all items appearing on the Shaping Tab.

    Thank you all for clarification! This is very helpful!

    Editing a DSF in text editor seems like a good alternative. Is there such a file that contains all morphs I installed? Backing up the file might help if I mess up something... or could that lead to corruption?

    Also... I have to keep the major regions (Actor, Head etc.) if I want to use the shapes-tab... otherwise I would only be able to use the parameters-tab?

    TBH I was half joking when I said manually edit them, for the vast majority it's easier and safer to use DS to do the work, less likely to make a mess of them that way.

    I however use both methods, there is an awful lot of "poorly" done content out there, much of it freebies, and if I'm going to use something then I want it to work "correctly". I was a game modder long before I joined the Poserverse, and I've been here since late Poser 4, so editing and "fixing" files is second nature to me.
