IRay to 3dl

I am sure this must have been asked before, But I can't find it. I have numerous scenes and other objects that only come out black in 3dl. Problem is, sometimes I want to render several views like for a comic book and Iray can take hours per on my computer. Also, if I put more that 2 figures in some scenes, The computer shuts off. Hours lost and if I forgot to save (usually) the whole scene has to be redone. I know that in 3dl i can render a dozen times in about an hour. useful when I want to render the adjust for a contest. Any help would be appreciated.

You can set the Render Settings to 3Delight, then Create a new primitive, plane. Select the plane and that one surface it has. File > Save As > Shader Preset ... to wherever you want under My Library but not in the Runtime folder.
Then for the objects in the scene that have Iray materials assigned to them, select them and all of their surfaces, hold down the Ctrl key and apply that basic 3D shader preset, ignoring the textures. Tweak the materials for each object as required and save out new material presets for them.
Load some lights and render away.
In my experience any of the Iray scenes I've bought and tried to render in 3DL , do stay black , what I do is go into the scene tab expand it and delete all of the Iray lights from the scene ,then go through and do what Catherine3678ab recommends , and then resave the scene as the 3DL version .Yes it takes a bit of time but worth it in the end in my opinion .I also do that with props and material/texture files
The reason you're getting black scenes is that there are no 'lights' in the scene.
Or more accurately there are no lights that 3delight can understand.
In the example render you show, the Brass pole nightclub(ID:35159), that uses all emissive surfaces for it's lighting. 3delight can't understand them.
To get anything out of it, you'll need to add lights to the scene.
The attached examples have just a single spot light for demonstration purposes.
In the first render, that's just switching the render engine from iray to 3delight, this results in many surfaces being very glossy/reflective.
For a quick conversion, you don't need to create any new presets as Caterine suggests.
Simple go to the "Shader Presets" folder in your content library, it's part of the default content of DS, Find the DS Defaults folder and use the dzdefault shader.
to apply it to all surfaces, it won't change the textures, just the shader settings, Expand and select all items in the Scene tab, CTRL+A, then in the Surfaces tab, Select either All, or CTRL+A again.
Double click the dzdefault shader and all surfaces will be converted to 3delight. second shot.
A few things to be aware of.
You may or may not need to delete any lights in the scene. They'll auto convert, at least in 4.12, to which ever render engine, 3delight(opengl uses the same settings) or iray, is selected,
You're going to spend a significant amount of time adjusting shader settings, as shown in the second render, the bump/displacement/normal map(s) are producing very rough surfaces.
If you're going to be doing this a lot, i'd recommend assigning the dzdefault shader to the Scripts menu(Right click(on the file)>Create custom action), then F3(customize daz studio pop out), and create a shortcut for the shader preset under the Custom list in customeze daz studio pop out.
There are some other shader options in the DS default folder, as well as the Uber surface and AOA that may produce better results, depending on the desired surface type.

As to your computer crashing when rendering in iray...
Are you rendering via CPU or GPU?
Sounds like you may have a thermal issue that's resulting in a shut down.
Might want to check thermals when running, cpu-z, gpu-z etc., and may need to replace the TIM(thermal interface material), aka the goo between the cpu/gpu and heatsink.
3Delight does have a shader for emissive surfaces, the Uber Area Light (Content Library>Daz Studio Formats>[Content directory]>Light Presets>Omnifreaker>UberAreaLight).
