Either Genesis 8 figure can take up to 15 minutes to load. Is there any way to fix this?

I'd like to know the same, I can be waiting for 30 mins for a scene to open sometimes, that's just ridiculous.
Do you have the auto face enhancer? I know problems of long loading time have been reported with early versions of that product, there's been an update but you may need to manually remove some old files before installing it:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/5349926/#Comment_5349926
(the missing smoother has been added to the updated install files since that post)
I have the male one but not the female one but the massive loading times are still present in female only or even building/landscape only scenes where the male face enhancer isn't even relevant so it must be something else, unless that product was so messed up it infected non G8M files too?
No, I have both female & male AFE and the slowdown is only in the female product & you know you have that product when you load any G8F character if at the end of the load you get a 'duplicate ID' error message.
You can get massive slow downs if you have either AFE for male or female active in a scene with high subD turned on for the face, especially if a scene is already high polygons to begin with & you are using iRay Preview render in your viewport. Either turn off AFE until you are render for your final creating of facial expression for rendering or turn off iRay Preview mode in the viewport.
This is not the reason for my slow loading times then as the product is not used in any scenes I'm loading and AFE is not turned on, I remember trying the product once and never used it since so this even happening in scenes created and saved way before I had that product. I don't use iray preview mode, I've been using DAZ heavily for a while so I know the basic things to avoid, this issue is definitely caused by something more complex or poor coding by DAZ itself. I do appreciate your attempt to help and taking the time to reply but I think you are under the impression we're talking about lag, we're not, this is about scene loading times, the part where we can't do anything because DAZ is trying to load the scene. If you have any advice that might help with that, not lag, that would be great, thanks :)
You should start by checking out your log.txt ( You can find it in C:\Users\*YOURCOMPUTERUSERNAME*>AppData>Roaming>DAZ 3D> Studio4
After a fresh start to DAZ, and before you load any assets into a scene, open the log up. This will tell you what conflicts you have just starting DAZ up. Save the log as... i dunno "DAZ-START.txt.
Then add a GF8 Character into an empty scene. Go make a cuppa coffee or something if you have extremely long loading times. When it is finally done, take a look at the newly created log.txt file again... now you have it just with loading a charater, not all the start up stuff.
My guess is, you have a crap ton of warnings... duplicate references etc etc.
That is where you can start trimming up you assets. USUALLY, you will find a lot of morph stuff can't find an assets it is looking for. Auto Face/Shape enhancer is one, but there will be a lot. I just unitstall the products that I don't use often that are clogging up the works.
I've read that when you load a character... DAZ runs a thourogh check of all the assets to see if everything is working as it should... which is what you can get WARNINGS (and thus, load slow times) from assets you NEVER touch...
I am a newbie myself, so if anyone has anything to add/correct, don't hesitate to chime in....
Cool, I'll try that. Just to be clear, I am not getting any warnings at all when I load scenes. I have gotten warnings in the past after installing certain products and an install has fixed the issue, these didn't really contribute any more than usual to the longer loading times, the only difference is that a box would pop up saying a certain files/s couldn't be found. Is this what you mean when you assume I'm getting warnings (I'm not getting these) or do you mean I will be getting warnings only visible in the log and not as pop ups as I have seen in the past? Thanks.
Sorry I wasn't clear...
Yes, the WARNINGs are in the Log...
Here is an example of one:
2020-03-26 14:50:45.492 WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\sdksource\fileinput\dzassetdaz.cpp(5759): Could not find output property for formula: Genesis8Female:/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Female/Morphs/DAZ%203D/Head/Old/PHMEyesIrisSize.dsf#PHMEyesIrisSize?value in file : /data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Female/Morphs/vyktohria/Lydia/VYK%20Lydia%20Head.dsf
I just know enough to be dangerous.. to myself.
I am not sure how to solve these WARNINGs... I just know that there was a time when I could fill a coulple of pages with them.... At that time, it took (what I thought) what was forever to load a figure in a scene.... 5-7 Minutes.
Checking around here and various other places, I found other users with similar problems. One suggestion was cleaning up these warnings, as something is looking for something else... and maybe that is what the hold up is... crunching through all your assets to find somehting that isn't there.
Who knows.
Anyway, I started pairing down stuff I didn't need that was causing a WARNING... "Super HD Loo Brushes of the World", while sounding neat, wasn't something I used... often enough anyway, so I unistalled it. That along with all the other MAJOR problem children.
Once I did that, my load time went from 5-7 minutes to about 1.5 minutes.
Your mileage may vary, of course.
I had same problem. Pulling my hair out for a while. hope this helps some one, when you load your char. daz loads all your morphs for that char. the more morphs you got the longer it takes.
my problem started after using xtransfer daz studio crashed now everytime i loaded Genesis 8 it crashed. deleted the two file folders in xtansfer directory now it didnt crash but took 10 minutes to load my figure. uninstalled the two folders now daz studio crashes again. My final solution I deleted xtransfer directory, now everything back to normal
X:\New Daz 3D\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\Xtransfer (my main content location) hope this helps
