Gallery image size

in The Commons

Just wonder...even though I am uploading a larger size image to my gallery , it's showing as a thubnail size in the Gallery. Any suggestions?

    I believe there's a 2 MB upload limit in the gallery. If your file is larger than that, it will get resized to fit; this is particularly notable with PNG images with a lot of detail or noise in them.

    @photogirl, Unless Daz has changed something recently, Matt is correct. The way to upload a larger dimension image is to keep the file size below 2MB. I use Irfanview 64-bit, which includes an option to limit jpeg image sizes. In Irfanview, I set the quality to 100 but limit the file size to 2000KB. Irfanview then calculates the best quality compression while keeping the file under the limit. It saves a lot of time and frustration that way.

    Just made sure my file size was under 2 MB...still showing as a thubmnail. This has happened a couple of times to me and the rest of the time it's fine. I'll see how it goes for the next time.

    Why don't they just restrict the images you can upload?   Rendo won't let you upload images larger than 2 MB.
