Daz Installer issue. I need help. :(

Hi everyone! So i loaded up the daz installer because i rember that some of my old M4 and Dave fellas need to be installed and I think they can';t be properly installed via the Daz program. However I'm really confused witht he Daz installer. My Daz program and my Libeary are on my D drive and I installed the installer to my D drive as well. However it all points to my C drive? How do I tell it to download and install on my otheer drive....or am I missing something. o_O

  • So I told Daz to install to my D drive and everything seemed fine. However it seems like the Content Management Sytem and Smart content get installed on my C drive.

How can I tell Daz to install everything to the D drive? Is it possible to have the program on the C drive and the content on the D drive?

    Help. :(

What do you mean by "Daz" - Install Manager, stand-alne isntallers for the applications, Daz Studio itself? Where did you make the changes, to which settings? What is going to the C: drive - some content, all content, saved files, the database? Had you changed the location for the Documents folder before installing applications (most will use that as the root for their saving path at least)?

If DS is already set to use the D: drive for content just download this script (link above the script itself) and drag the file into the DS Viewport to run it http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config/start

Merged threads sicne they are on essentially the same topic.

  • Thanks Richard, I'm sorry for the double post. blush

Arrgh sorry to be so confusing, my laptop has two drives C for windows and D for programs. Thaings can be instlled on C but I'd like the bulk of daz to go on my D Drive as it's much larger.

As for the program itself what I mean is that wheninstalling Daz 3d I initally choose my D drive for both the program and My library however when it actually installs the CMS and smart content folder end up on my C drive. I have no idea why that happens. Also I can change the location of the documents folder? I figured that was hard coded into windows....I'm so confused. o-O

Can I just move the smart content folder over to D? Will that work?

I'm just not sure why it's doing what it's doing.

Please post screen shots of the places you have configured paths - atthe moment I'm still not entirely clear on what it is that is going to the wrong place, or what chnages you have made to move things to D:.

Ok here we go...this just might be me being a complete derp....I dunno....I'm sorry Richard. >_<

So despite my my library being on my D drive smart content will end up on my C drive. o_O

Also for the Daz content installer...

Where is this gonna go exactly?

Perhaps I'm being a complete dunderhead but I'd love to have everything like all my products on my D drive but it seems like nothing is gonna go to my library?
