What about DAZ Install Manager and DAZ Central?
It better not. They were not affected, and there is no real "update" to the metadata, just to what Connect was using.
For us DIM users, is it safe to reconnect Studio to Connect? There's a product that I've been wanting to use that only installs correctly though connect (ticket about it has been open for 6 days with no response so far).
I almost exclusively install content using DIM except when I manually install content (such as freebies from Renderosity) or when DAZ Studio doesn't recognize content as being installed unless installed via Connect. I don't use Connect because I don't have the flexibility (as far as I know) of choosing where content is installed when using Connect and the rather bizarre folder and naming protocols used by Connect. I still have many missing thumbnails though.
I have a strong feeling that the store update was not the issue. the first time I have noticed that Daz Connect was behaving weird was when genesis 8.1 was released. The G8.1 Starter essentials were insatlled correctly via DIM, plus all the other files (Powerpose templates etc), but once you connected to Daz Connect, the Starter Essentials have been "hijacked" and moved to "PowerPose Male Template" in Smart Content. From then, it got worse.
One of the advantages of a Mac is TimeMachine, so it is easy for me to revert to the last time the CMS database was fine.
Did DS go online? It was that that allowed the thumbnails to be lost, not instalaltion.
Well, I am not sure if anything in the Smart Content got fixed at all. Actually, it seems to me it is looking worse and worse every day. The attachment shows my most recently installed Smart Content as of now.
I also have sometimes missing thumbnails when installing products via DIM. I had filed tickest, the only feedback I got, unfortunately, was that the metadata has been fixed and I should set Studio online....
Latest examples:

https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-seasons-magus-for-genesis-8-male
https://www.daz3d.com/social-distance-restaurant
The thumbnail fixing is currently at SKU #62000, so it should be fully complete by tonight or tomorrow morning. The products with tickets got a first pass, this is for the rest of the store products.
Seasons Magus currently doesn't have a thumbnail pic in the zip file, unless it has been updated very recently. Social Distance Restaurant has a full-blown promo pic at 1000 x 1300 px as the installed thumbnail. If I remember correctly, the DIM thumbnail was missing, the one you get in the tooltip when you hover over it. Don't know about Kristin Dress.
I usually, but not always, login at the opening splash screen.
The DS would have tried to update metadata and would have received the missing thumbnail, replacing the good thumbnail from installation. This is what is in the process of being fixed.
Going up or down on the SKU numbers, please?
Because I see missing thumbnails for SKU 17320 and SKU 74447 alike.
Followed directions outlined in this thread and re-installed every thing via DIM, and all seems well, Just wanted to add that some of the products now have slightly different Icons now than what they were with Daz connect. Some of the Anatomical Elements even have different names. Is that suppose to be?

In the end I solfed the problem by copying all missing icons from the meta folder of my girlfriends computer into my meta folder ;-)
The thumbnails in the new BETA are still not loading and Zilpha still loads with every G8F character. The regular DS no longer has this problem. How can this be fixed?
That sounds as if they are pointing to different content directories, or the same directories in a different order, and the beta is finding the older version of the Zilpha files (or finding them before the updated versions).
To fix any ill-behaving morphs (=Zilpha), do as follows;
1. Open DS and load "Genesis 8 Basic Female" (to an empty scene)
2. Right Click at Parameters Tab->Preferences->Choose "Show Hidden Properties" (part 3 zeroes only 'visible' dials)
3. Right Click at Parameters Tab->Zero->Zero Figure (Zeroes the value of all the 'visible' dials)
4. Right Click at Parameters Tab->Memorize->Memorize Figure (Sets the current value of all the dials as their default value)
5. Edit->Save As->Support Asset->Save Modified Assets (Writes the changed default value to the morph files that were changed)
When saving "Modified Assets" DS shows a dialog and asks for confirmation;
"The following file(s) will be permanently modified:" - "Accept/Cancel" - Choose "Accept"
The thumbnail has not been fixed yet.
When will it be fixed?
It's very annoying.
After applying the fix would it be possible to backup/copy the said directory to another storage location and applying it to the new installation? Or would it still revert to the same issue?
