Technical support on leave?

Posted a bug report on Sunday and haven't had any kind of response except for the initial generic email. I can understand because of the medical emergency but would be nice to have some kind of indication.
Starting about 10 days ago any attempt to use Iray render results in a fatal error and closes the program. Can't even do a preview in shade mixer without crashing. I can render using GL (which is a lot faster) but not Iray. I have a complete uninstall and reinstall without success.

They work Mon-Fri minus holidays and as you are aware everybody's whereabouts for working these days varies. They do exist ;-)
? previews in shade mixer? For Iray shaders there are no previews in there. Use the Aux Viewport to preview them.
I suspect others that could maybe help you would need to know which OS you have and possibly something from the log file. You can clear the log file first, then replicate the problem, open D/S again and copy/paste the log file into a post.
And Daz staff are working from home now, because of Covid-19.
You can revisit your ticket to see if there has been any progress.

You will get an email as soon as somebody is actually assigned to look at the ticket. Until then nothing is happening.
Emma is working. I got emails about 6 help requests on 3/18 and one email yesterday about another help request.
My Shader Mixer windowpane has three places that I can click to see a preview.
I have check my bug report everyday since I sent it in. Status is still marked Open.
Are you still trying to work in Iray materials? That isn't an Iray material, it's 3Delight. Look at the top of the taller brick ("DS Default Material" is the default 3Delight shader) and at the bottom (RSL is the shader language used in 3Delight shaders, MDL is the one for Iray). If you have an Iray material applied to an object in your scene, and you want to work on it in the Shader Mixer, you need to import it using the File menu IN THE SHADER MIXER PANE — NOT THE PROGRAM FILE MENU.
I can't help you with the preview (or lack of one); I work on all my materials in the Surfaces pane itself, I keep trying now and then, but I can't really understand the Shader Mixer.
And as I said, no we don't, not for Iray. We use the Aux Viewport. Works well.
Some of the bricks are for 3D, some for Iray [mdl] and some for both.
Thanks, Catherine. I forgot to switch to mdl for my screen capture but even when I select for mdl the previews tabs are still shown. In your capture you placed red Xs over them, but the software doesn't inactivate them so I assumed they were functional. I'm still new to Daz and I don't usually play with the shader mixer but I was using it to make sure I had my vmaterials directory linked correctly. Hit preview on a whim and received the same crash notice I am receiving when I try to render with Iray.
Recently purchased a bunch of Iray materials from Daz. Sure would be nice to be able to use them in a render.
You're welcome.
Yes those fields are still there, I put the red Xs because no they are not going to work with Iray. Totally different render engine that what those fields were designed for [in my layperson's terminology].
Okay, if you pointed the directory to where the .mdl files are located, that is all that you needed to do with Shader Mixer. Presupposing that you have been downloading the shaders I've been putting together and putting that content in the right folders, when you select an object and a surface, the shader will apply.
And of course all the purchased Shaders from the Daz3d store should work as well. Those are not dependant on the vmaterials from nVidia.
One thing that will knock D/S out is if one renders 3D materials with Iray or vice versa. Not always ... but there are these eyes on some cat that will do it everytime.
Check the render settings before running a render, and before creating any new primitives. Primitives are created with the shader applicable for the render engine selected.
