Added User Content to Smart Content, doesn't update with new objects?

I created a folder called "Shaders" in smart content by creating a category based on a folder.  It showed up how I expected with the shaders that were in it.  However when I saved a new shader in that folder, Smart Content didn't update with the new shader file.  How do I get Smart Content to get updates from the folders that generated the categories?

As far as I know you can't chnage the default categorsation of saved files, categorising folder X should as such-and-such just categorises the current files, it doesn't tell DS to watch the folder for additions. A script could be written to sweep through a list of folders assigning set categories to files that lacked them, by folder, I would imagine.

Is there a way to manually update the categories to add the missing assets? I'm not necessarily looking for it to watch the folders, but is there a way to refresh or add them easily?

Select the file(s), right click and select "Categorize..." and select the new category created in your original post.
