Issues with recently installed clothing.. Not recognized, mats don't work properly

What in the world is going on...  I recently bought the Bodysuit Xfashion as well as the stocking and sock fashion set.   I should have known something was up when it didn't show up properly in the smart content section.   I can add the bodysuit and stockings with no issue.  However when I try to apply a mat, the Genesis 8 figure partially vanishes into a glitchy mess.  I did a right click to remove the items (did this seperately and together) and they did not show in the pop up menu.  I can apply the mats somewhat using the scene menu, but not all the mats apply.  Some just come out a dull gray.  Show I remove and re-install or what?

    It's a geoshell outfit, you need to have the shell selected to apply material presets.

    If you have g8f selected it'll apply a opacity map to g8f and sections will disappear.

    Okay, I see what you mean now.  Some of the mats still don't entirely show properly but it's working better than it was before.
