Scene randomly getting extremely bright

Hey there, complete daz3d novice here.

I've been doing some very early fiddling with daz3d. So far everything seems nice and pretty straight forward. However I've run into an issue where, for no discernible reason, my scenes will all of a sudden get completely flooded in a very bright light.

It's an issue that's been persisting even if I close a scene and start over with a new one. It's also happening regardless of whether or not I have added any light sources to a scene.

I really don't know what could be causing this. Is there some default light sources other than the environment map/intensity that I don't know about that might be the culprit? Even so, why would it happen at seemingly completely random times?

I've taken a screenshot of it so you can see what it looks like in the Nvidia Iray render view - https://i.imgur.com/zZV1N1g.png

  • Reset the render settings to default and start again.

Your environmet map is at 0.0, leave it at 1.0 (or is it 2.0?), intensity shouldn't need changing unless you use a weird environment, yours is on 0.0.

Go the general section and turn auto headlamp to never. This is probably the issue your getting.

    Very possibly the Camera headlamp

Select the camera and in the Camera tab under Headlamp turn it off

This was it for me thanks! Didn't know headlamp on camera was even a thing and it certainly should NOT be on by default it's very ugly and interferes with your scene. Novice from other 3D programs would have no clue as no ohter software with mess with your lighting like this! lol  I know this is old but when something posted actually helps I have to comment thank youu again!
