My Texture shaded got all screwed up! How to Fix it?

Help please,

I don't know what happened but now when I view something in texture shaded in the viewport (actually everything except wire shaded or Nvidia Iray) I get weird artifacts.

I tried restarting Daz, even my PC.

Not sure what to do next.

  • Might be the Interface settings.

    F2 or Edit>preferences.

Select the Interface tab, and try Restore Factory defaults, if you normally use the defaults.

If you prefer adjusted settings, you may need to change those to eliminate the artifacts.

i keep specific settings that normally do this so i just kind of ignore them.

The only time i worry about stuff like this is when it's affecting the render.

    ---------------------------------------

And of course when testing the reset, DS says nope, so it may require manual resetting of the values in the interface dialog.

Specifically try adjusting the Texture resources, if too low, and the Display optimization to None or better, I usually use "best" as it seems to have the fewest lag issues but can produce some issues like this.

Just tried it, unfortunately not working.

One thing though, it doesn't happen with all clothes.

Checking out more details and playing with the settings, I think some normals are flipped in some of the outfits and that is why they are not displaying properly.

I just found a few of these outfits in a row and thought it was a general problem.

Any idea if I can fix the without screwing up the texturing?

I think it's just the Z-ordering issue with transmapped surfaces, which has always been present.

Ok, so it's a known issue and there is nothing I can do about it? Should I close the thread?

Yes, it is - as I understand it - because trying to get DS to correctly stack the overlapping planes would have (had) unacceptable impact on performance.
