basic low grade d-former info needed

how does one select a d-former BASE?

in these pics where the red arrows point is where d-deformers were used to get rid poke-throughs on the coats.

when i created the deformers they did not show up the parameters tab, had to click range rings. but the base did not show up.

at time the base and all move with actor, other times like shown in daz3d view window they are left behind(gf1 was moved back and gm1 was added but gf1 d-formers were left behind).

how does one select d-former base to move it?
how does one move all parts of d-former with actor(when needed)?

Have you tried using the Scene pane?

    d-former select [solved(scene panel)]

    thank you.

how about ~ reattaching ~ the d-former to the actor/coat once the deformation is complete; so the d-former will move with the actor, when the actor is selected and moved?

in this case the d-former is on the coat. the actor, coat, pants and shoes move but the d-former(s) stay(s).

Do yourself a favor and buy Mesh Grabber (https://www.daz3d.com/mesh-grabber). It is superior in every way to d-formers. Well worth the money (especially when it's on sale).

It's rather sad that Daz Studio does not have built in tool like Mesh Grabber.

You could also try using a push-modifier. I find push modifiers somewhat more intuitive to use then the d-formers.

I'll wait for a no cost low-grade obvious answer [like the Scene pane]

now is not the time (for me) to be spending money on such things(for pros, sure)

If your talking about repositioning the actor, try parenting the deformer to the coat.  That way it will move with the coat.  This is just my guess as I haven't played much with deformers.
