Objects that cannot be hidden

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Probably a stupid question but I'm flummoxed. I want to hide a wall in a particular object and for some reason when I click the EYE symbol nothing happens and I can't make it invisible (see attached). Is there a lock that prevents hiding objects that I'm not aware of? THANKS

    Are you sure that's the right node? What happens if you move it, using sliders or the Viewport gizmo?

    Maybe there are 2 of the same objects in the scene?

    UPDATE: I figured it out. There is a LOCK for object visibility that can be activated in the Parameters tab. When it is activated you can't turn off visibility (see attached).

    Well that's good to know about. Rather odd that it was set though.
