Skin SURFACE SETTINGS

Can anyone refer me to a resource that explains skin surface settings. Under V6 under SURFACES for example there are 1-7 Templates, Legacy Surfaces, Skin and Subsurfaces. I have been playing with the dials but there are so many variables that I think I would benefit from some guidance. Thanks in advance for any help.

As large as DAZ Studio has now gotten, by large I mean all the new ways things can be done with the built in tools to the new types of lights and all in between, I would expect several books. One to cover just setting up of the full package, including the CMS and DIM, the basic render functions and using the content in scenes and doing your renders. One to cover the more in-depth functions such as how Render settings effect the images and when to use them, the full information on the surfaces tab and the different types of texture shaders from Uber Surface to AoA's SSS. One full book on lighting, all the different types of lighting from default and shader based that is included to the most common ones in use such as AoA's Advanced sets, and when they effect the other settings with a section on why and how to adjust for the lighting used. And the Last a full break down of each tool in the program at default install. how to use them and what to use each one for.
That to me would let each person get only the part they wished to study at the time, and avoid the let me jump ahead to things I find cool but do not understand the basic's yet type thing. If you wanted the other parts just buy them too or move up to them as you go.

I've been using Studio since it's first Beta and I must say this is the absolute best ever tute on the Surface tab I've seen. I felt so dumb and realized how much time I'd wasted til this. I looked at the price and was skeptical, but took the risk and am sooooo glad I did. It is EXCELLENT !! :-)
