Transfer Clothing from G3 to G8M

Hi,

there's a method for transferring clothing from G3 to G8 by using the Edit>Scene ID.... when I try that the arms and, sometimes, legs go weird

as if the rigging is off or something. I've followed all the steps

Adjust pose to match G3, Load unparented, Edit> Scene ID, Edit>Transfer Rigging then fit. but every time the arms and, sometimes, legs go weird. The arms worse than the legs. I've tried tweaking the starting pose to match exactly but it makes little difference. I've tried different clothing with similar results. I finally tried just zeroing the G8 pose and, as expected, that didn't help. See Attached.

Anyone got any ideas.

There‘s a tutorial on DeviantArt by Sickleyield on how to do this properly. It works really well, I‘ve been doing it for quite a lot of clothes already. The thing you‘re missing right now is, you need to put the clothes into the right pose before transferring the rigging. So if it‘s a G8 shirt, you have to put the arms into the G3 zero pose BEFORE transferring.
Some clothes are more complicated than that for whatever reason; they might not have arm bones that let you pose them properly, or they might require to be posed a bit differently in order to work. I found that generally, it‘s best to make a G3 zero pose preset beforehand which you can simply apply to any clothes regardless of editable bones; and to be on the safe side, bake joint rotations after that. If the arms are still in the wrong position, try posing them 30 degrees higher than the default G3 pose, so that they are pointing halfway upwards (like mirroring the G8 arms downward zero pose, see?) You need to turn off limits for that. Do bake joint rotations before transferring also.

    Good luck!

Sorry, I got this the wrong way round, of course if you‘re transferring from G3 to G8, you‘ll have to use the G8 zero poses! This is arms down by 30 degrees and legs out by 6 degrees, if I remember correctly.

Thanks, I'm using the tutorial by SY the pose by SY also.
