hdr lighting - get light without sky?

trying to render just some scene subsets which is easy with set lights but if the mainlight is a hdr sky any way to get the light without the sky being visible in the render.

Render> Render setting> Draw Dome to Off   If you would like a nice white background, you can add Render > Environment > Backdrop and either choose a color like white or add your own photo
