speeding up work flow? scripts?

after 'dialing' or i guess it would be 'sliding' a character for gn or g2

and i want to save separate head and body presets ... is there like a script that can do that?

can the rigging tools merge 2 figures?
so if i wanted to rig the torso first, til i get it just right, and then do a leg, can i merge them?
