Diffeomorphic plugin question
![wolf359](https://farnsworth-prod.uc.r.appspot.com/forums/uploads/userpics/136/nF22X3MBOLL2A.png)
So..I decided to have a go at the Diffeo plugin for Daz studio 4.12 with Blender 2.82 current main release
.........
How does one load an animated pose file (duf) to an already imported Daz figure??...
I have my figure successfully imported via the JSON file
....................................
I tried using the "load action" option and the "load pose" option.............
Each time I get a figure with horribly twisted arms that jumps out if its clothing with a warning that "some morphs are missing"................................
This does not happen when I use straight FBX from Daz studio to Blender.......
Tell me honestly ...is this plugin actually viable for bringing in animated Daz figures& Daz motion data to Blender or is it just for Stills???

Honestly, I'm almost certain the author hasn't done that work yet.
You can put in an issue report to him but you'll have to create a bitbucket.org account to do so: https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/import-daz/issues?status=new&status=open
Sort of explains the lack of animation examples from the plug in advocates.
Sticking with FBX and/or Iclone Alembic to Blender then.
With regards to the figure 'jumping out of its clothing', perhaps you have not merged the rig of the clothing to the rig of the figure - they are separate when first imported. This is covered in the plugin documentation under the Corrections Section, Merge Rigs. It is worth reading through the docs if you have not done so yet, it's pretty essential to get the best results from the plugin.
As far as the pose import goes, I have to agree this is one part of the plugin that I find to be less helpful than the others. Often, I find poses do not import for no apparent reason. Sometimes these poses can be imported as 'actions', but not always. However, I have not had anything go 'horribly twisted': when it works it's fine, but as I say often nothing happens at all. Having said that I would rather pose the figures in Blender most of the time.
The fact the plugin doesn't produce the same results as FBX imports is only to be expected because it does not use FBX, but parses the .duf file(s) and uses that data to rebuild the scene in Blender. That removes reliance on the quality of the Daz Studio FBX exporter and the Blender FBX importer, which given FBX isn't an entirely open format are likely to be imperfect, but means the plugin has to do all the heavy lifting.
Even getting the merged clothing sorted, the lack of a reliable way to apply animation Data and replace it with different data later on, means this plugin is a non starter as Character animation pipeline option.
