DIM Settings after moving My Daz 3d Library

My libabry got too big so I had to move it to a second drive.  The issue is that when I now install files, they don't get installed to that directory, they get installed into a C drive directory, and I have to physically move them.  What are the correct DIM settings to make sure that the files get installed to where I moved the directory?

You want DIM to be isntalling to the content directory, whatever that is called and wherever it is. One way to set it up is to close DIM, then download this script http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config/start (link is above the code) and drag it into the DS Viewport to run it.

That's awesome Richard!  Actually while I was waiting for a response I found the answer in another thread, but this is a lot easier!  Thanks!

So let me get this straight:  you can drag scripts into the viewport?  If you drag files into the viewport, like scene files, do they open?

Yes, you can drag scripts into the Viewport to run them.

Hi Richard, hope you can help me with this one again.  I had my DIM on an external hard drive.  To make a long story short, I had to reload all of the DIM content onto another one.  Although it sees all of the installed products, when I try to install new ones the install fails.  I did try dragging thaqt script into the viewport, but it didn't work.  Any thoughts?

  • Install through DIM? And you updated the paths in Daz Studio?

What is happening is it looks like the file is installing, it gets all the way to the end, then fails
