Dynamic Cloth Issue

Hi all,

I have been using: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/203081/dforce-start-here as a guide line but I still cant progress. I have been experimenting but not learning anything new at this point.  I am trying to get a dress to fall naturally on a sitting woman. BUT HOW? With the seat? Without the seat? dForce settings?!?! Are you doing a final pose or a partial to get the desired results? IDK what to do... The legs being crossed seems to be a big hurdle at well. Please help.

dforce doesnt work well with figures or characters that have vertices or vertex collision with the material your trying to simulate with.. which is also know as explosion..for best result use custom animation keys for posing and set the characters in such a way that the clothes have zero interception with the cloth and in the final pose set the pose you want and simulation in your case the i assume you started simulating in that pose which already have the dress interception the sofa and thats seems to be problem...pose her in a standing position then simulate with the animated keys set to the final pose in the end.

This sounds like the answer to me. Is there a guide on how to use "animation keys"? I have no clue how this process works. I tried simulating without the couch and the cloth still didnt drape naturally but that could be bc it was colliding with itself as you say. When you say pose in a standing position...what if the position is sitting? I know that must be a silly question but im still wrapping my head around this process. Are the animation keys for the dress, and the figure out just the dress?  Thanks for your help!!
