    Oh, folks,

    There's one important thing to remember. When hooking up 2 displays like a TV via HDMI and a monitor, you MUST have the monitor hooked up via VGA. If the graphics card has a DV-I port hook the monitor up to it with an adapter. This way, with the display settings set to duplicate the 2 screens, when you view full screen videos like MP4's and WMV's they won't flicker when viewed on the TV. If you hook the monitor up to the graphics card with a DV-I (Assuming of course that your monitor supports both.) you will get flickering on the TV and smooth video on the monitor, which rather defeats the object of having the TV hooked up. If you have a decent enough graphics card you won't notice any drop in quality through the VGA port.

    It took me most of yesterday and a lot of this morning to figure that out

    Sounds like your card has the issue.
    I have HDMI running as my main monitor with a 90 rotate and DVI as my primary boot and secondary Windows screen and you are getting a drop in quality, you've gone back to analog with VGA.

    I don't notice any drop in quality and the set up I have works. I'm happy with what I have and don't intend on spending money on anything else computer related just yet.
