StudioCF to Legacy

A couple of days ago (Tuesday I believe it was) DIM showed up with a raft load of Product Updates for items with names ending in StudioCF. From memory most were 'older item's but a few of the 'Carinval ...' products were included. so I assumed they were for the better application of DS textures, etc.
I get home, ready to install and ... they have all become '... Legacy' items.
As StudioCF items I think I'd want them. As Legacy items ... I don't think I do.
It's bad enough having smart content for Poser versions of stuff (yes, I have Poser too, though I rarely use it) as well as the DS version (especially as I have a Poser-only runtime that is NOT referenced in DS).;

Was I hallucinating, suffering from a pyschotic break brought on by sausage and mash? ;)

    Carnival products seem to be messed up now. DAZ has updated some, but not all to DUF. Carnivals Presets is 90% unusable now and Magic for Carnival Midway Studio CF doesn't work for me at all. I have installed everything that the DIM says is needed for DS 4.5+. I'm running 4.6.

    I'm seeing a trickle of items that seemed to be 'dual' Poser and DS getting split, with an Update to a Poser (or DS) version and the inclusion of a new DS (or Poser) version.

    In the case of the carnival series StudioCF files were data and .daz files. you'd have had to download the poser version for the textures. Now the legacy files are stand alone. Meaning you can just download the legacy installers and not need the poser files. Or just the DS files and not need the poser or Legacy.

    The updates were to also add 4.6 files into the sets, all of which are now updated except for the Magic series and Revelrie which i am working on updating.

    Hope that helps. (Also when i update the products i do also add the readme to the wiki or update it with what was changed)

    OK, thanks - so I can pretty much 'ditch' the Legacy files I have in DIM? (By ditch I mean move to a different location, just in case ;))

    Yes if you are using 4.6 you can get the ds files and use the duf files. Some people still use DS 3 or 4 even 2 which is why we have the legacy files.
