Will DS 4.6 work on Linnux?

I am having a lot of trouble with Windows 8.1.

DS works fine, but a number of my other programs will not work.

I am thinking of putting Linnux OS on my computer to try to overcome this problem.

If I do this, will I need to install a Windows "interface" or program that "looks like" Windows to run my older windows programs, such as Roxio..... ?

And will Reality and Lux work this way?

I use DS with wine almost exclusively. For the most part it works (luxrender, reality, luxus, ...). The only thing i found that does not work is the ERC-Freeze function (simply crashes with the latest version of wine). The only plugin that i know of that does not seem to work at all is the Look-at-my-hair (only the new version, the old version worked). The biggest drawback might be that it is only that reliable with 32 bit DS, using the 64 bit with wine is rather unpleasant. I do not know anything about roxio.
