I am assuming it can be saved as a Support Asset>Figure/Prop asset? I always just saved them as scenes
You can edit them under Edit>Object>Edit SBH
And refit to another figure under Paramets>Fit To...
There are limits to what you can "Fit To". SBH created on one G8M character, for example, can be Fit To other G8M character, but not to other gender or generation characters.
One way around that, for head hair anyway, is to use a separate skull cap, (or scalp.) The SBH will only work on that skull cap, but the cap can be Fit To other gender/generations, how well depends on a number of factors. The cap can also be parented to a model, and/or hidden.
If you create SBH for one animal, it cannot be Fit To another. For example, SBH for the Daz Housecat, cannot then be Fit To the Daz Big Cat 2.
