What’s a DAZ Original?

 Just wanted to know the difference between a DAZ original created with another artist compared to a non DAZ original.

As I understand it, when you purchase a non DAZ original item, a part of that money goes to the artist and a part goes to DAZ.

With DAZ originals the artist gets paid a lump sum once at release. From then on all money that the item brings in goes to DAZ.

There is no difference in quality between DAZ originals and non DAZ originals.

DAZ originals are more likely to go on sale or even become temporarily free.

Yes, as Hylas said the only difference is ownership:

• PA items are still owned by the PA. Daz brokers them and gets a cut on sales
• Daz Originals which reference a PA name were bought by Daz upfront. Daz now own the product.
