Easy removal rather than 1 by 1 - NVM, backed up user data and did a reset

I recently did a review of all my content and did "Spring cleaning" removing products that I will never use. (Via the DIM). Now I have a plethora of these:
I know that it is possible to right click and delete each item. Is there a faster way? I removed approx 1000 of the legacy products and each time you delete the reference in the product list, DS collapses the library tree. You have to click/dig through the lists again to right click on the next uninstalled product.
I would prefer to avoid a database reset, since I have an extensive custom categorized system. I did a reset one time and it took months to recategorize everything.
Thanks for any help you might be able to share.
