A (hopefully) simple shadow question.

Hi,

I'm using 3delight and usually use distant lights, pointlights and spotlights mainly. Is there a setting for the shadows from them to be stronger without the light being brighter?

    yes, with the light selected you should find the dials in the parameters tab

    Thanks. Which dial gives stronger/darker shadow?

    Here's a trick for what it's worth...note that this has to be used with care, it can cause unexpected behaviorlaugh

    If you use a very strong environmental light you may find it useful. Here, the plane and sphere are mid grey, as you can see, with a distant light at 100% strength and the UE2 at 100% strength with a pure white color, the shadows are washed out, and the mid grey diffuse color is practically white.

    I select the distant light, go to parameters/light/shadows and turn limits off for shadow strength, the result with 200% strength:

    And the same can be done with the UE2. Here's 100% shadow strength and 200% occlusion strength:
