Selection Sets

Hi Guys,

My apologies. This is a very newbie question. If I am working on a scene and have a block of grass that does not suit the scene due to the shape, I know I can use the geometry editor to select the polygons I don't need to "trim" the grass to just the way I need it. However, everytime I start DAZ i find myself having to do this again and again, especially if using multiple scenes. Is there a way that I can save the way I trim the grass and load it up next time? I thought there was a way to do this via "save a selection set", but even though I save the selection set, I can't find where they are stored to load.

Any assistance would be wonderful, this is doing my head in.

Cheers,

Maxo

The selection set will be embedded in the scene or scene subset.

One way to do it, with a figure, is t create a new group for the bits you want to hide, add a new bone with the Joint Editor, then assign the new group to the new bone in the Tool Settinsg pane as its selection group (not the same as a selection set) - that way the eye icon in the Scene pane or the Visible property in the Parameters pane can be used to hide it, and that will be remembered. Assuming the grass is a prop not a figure, you can use Edit>Object>Rigging>Convert Prop To Figure to start with.

  • You're a legend Richard. Thank you so much. Answered my question perfectly.
