Large Set

First off please excuse me if my terminology is incorrect. I'm not the most technically adept at DAZ to say the least. I have created a large set with multiple pieces from a number of different product sources. Then I added a number of figures (probably around 15) with the intention of doing a number of different renders on this one set. Go to do my first render and it starts off then a few minutes in crashes. I have a suspicion that I have too much in the scene? Any thoughts or suggestions on how to do large scenes would be appreciated. Thanks.

Instead of one large set, make several subscene sets. They can be 'merged' in as required. Hide or delete from the scene anything not actually in the render.
When ready to render, Save the Scene As [whatever], close D/S, open D/S - load that scene and Render. {that clears the memory cache]
Thanks Catherine. I'll try that.
Years before, there were a lot of talks on the relationship between video card and iray render, the video card memory is important. If a (big scene) render exceed the video card's memory, it will collapse, that's the reason people choose 1080TI or 2080TI since they all have 11GB memory.
I don't think even a Titan RTX with its 24 Gb vram could render 15 different figures(i.e. characters) simultaneously without a lot of scene optimizing?
