Script to allow confirmation button before execution

I am requesting someone's creative skills to create a template script, or macro, or whichever action can make it possible, where I can place a button on the interface which not only performs an action, but also presents a dialogue box to confirm the action.

For example, a button which may set a specific pose (load from a file) or zero a figure (a menu action), but, before doing so, it will prompt to confirm the action is truly wanted.

If you have the ability to write an example script or macro or provide reference(s) to a useful resource that can demonstrate this for an inexperienced scripting user, it would be greatly appreciated.
