any way to select meshes using geometry editor by mesh continuity?

Hi everyone

so what im trying to do is to select a bunch of buttons from a cloth i did in brush that are different objects, but using the geometry editor tool, closest thing i could get was double clicking the mesh but only selects parts of it. Any better way to select different elements by mesh continuity so  i can assign the correct shaders for it?

same goes for dforce cloth. Would it be best(tho a lot of work) to import every single metal piece or hard piece as its own unique object and assign a bunch of different rigid follow nodes to the cloth, or is there a smarter way of doing this?

thanks

Geometry Editor has an option to select all polygons connected to the selected polygon. That is good for selecting buttons most of the time. Select one polygon on each button. Right click in the viewport, with the Geometry Editor tool selected, to get the context menu. Then select connected. Shortcut is Ctrl+*.
