Posing Characters
Okay, I've played with daz before but was never good at posing the characters. I ended up using poses and just changing them a little. I have bought a few things for working with poses. I have pose master but was looking at pose architect. I am going to watch some tutorials for working with the pose tools already in Daz Studio. I just wanted to check and make sure I wasn't missing any good helpful products.
My daughter has finally gotten interested in Daz Studio. I usually buy merchant resources and tons of morphs and make characters and retexture things with shaders and all that. But she is interested in the new goth and anime characters. Being concerned with costs, I have mentioned that buying characters and texture packs for clothes is the affordable way to go in my opinion. That and platinium club even if it is only once in awhile. But one of her main interests is in animating a figure so that she can have references for traditional animations. So help with posing to save her time would be great, or youtube vids she could watch.
She still wishes there was more of a community like in mikumiku dance. If only Zev would make an anime skinbuilder and let the kids share free anime character creations.... But I am very happy she is interested in it. She was happy with the fitting clothes between generations working better too. I made changes to speed up my workflow and my new computer renders fast. She is really fast with a pencil and her traditional cartoons are good. It has been a challenge to get her learn this because it took me so long to do something and she can just churn out her traditional stuff. But I explained it didn't have to take ages, it just takes Me ages cause that is how I like it, changing up everything. But posing is an area I am not very helpful with yet, so any advice would be welcome.

Pose Architect is a good time saver and it's pretty easy to get very nice results with it whether you're posing from scratch or adjusting an existing pose. I use it a lot when I'm setting up scenes. There's also Power Pose, which is worth taking a look at if you haven't already. It's a posing tool built into Daz Studio. It can be a little awkward to work with when you're new to it, but once you know how it works, it' can be quite nice and speedy. It's helpful for posing the face and making expressions too. You can find it under Windows > Panes > PowerPose.
