I've had my first dabble into animation but now when i open the character i practised on it comes with said animation.... is there anyway i can detach and discard the animation? i know about the clear animation tab when you right clip parameters but that really only resets the pose or shape and not the animation.

thank you.

It may be a case of you saved the information with the character if you saved out the file sometime during your animating. I would suggest clearing the animation and re-saving the character and see if that corrects the issue for you.

How do i clear the animation... its a heavly morphed character and the animation utilises even more morphs to convey natural movment.

i can clear aniblocks and i can reset poses but resettng the morphs negates all the work i'd done previous... not an option.

moving forward i will either practise on off the shelf characters that i can delete or create duplicates of my worked characters for practise on.

Other than these little obstacles (which so far have always been surmounted)  i'm making steady pogress... it's great software but it certainly aint intuitive.

    Thanks.

I'd try the right click on the animation pane and use the clear animation/clear figure pose option then try re-saving that should reset all the pose info but leave the morph info alone. I don't use aniblocks much myself I tend to use the timeline more and that is usually for dForce simulating so hopefully this should work for you with the aniblocks.

  • Thank you for your input... not done any animations in a few days (too many distractions with Daz) but i did get round it by reseting each frame!

i do remember left clicking and right clicking and double clicking just about everything in a bid to conjure up a 'clear animation' option... i failed.

So many obstacles to overcome when you first pick up Daz and fatique can be the greatest of them but compared to say 3 weeks ago i'm making steady progress.

you need to select the body part the morphs are on, it may be actor or it might be head etc

if the morphs also cotribute to the character you need to

memorise figure pose and choose animation clear selected items then restore figure pose
