How does Snorkel Island work?

I just bought PW Snorkel Island and it seems to load just fine, but I can't seem to change it from night to day or to turn on any lights. What am I missing?

It looks as if there are presets to turn the lights on and off, for which you presumably need to have the cottage selected:

    • Full Lights On/Off
    • Bathroom Lights On/Off
    • Bedroom Lights On/Off
    • Kitchen Lights On/Off
    • Living Room Lights On/Off

then there are presets for the props, which presumably require those props selected

    • Landpost Lights On/Off
    • Oil Lamp Set Cottage Lights On/Off
    • TV Living Room On/Off

and finally there are environment options, which I would expect to be Render settings

    • Skydome Morning
    • Skydome Day Time
    • Skydome Night Time 1
    • Skydome Night Time 2
    • Sun Morning
    • Sun Day Time
    • Sun to Night Time 1
    • Sun to Night Time 2 Moon
  • Thank you for taking the time to answer. I've tried everything I can think of: Select the cottage and double-click the different light presets... but, nothing happens, that I can tell. Same with the TV. I did select a lantern and zoom in to it... it does change the bulb from white to black. But the light that you would normally see in a scene doesn't seem to be there. In other environments if I turn off all of the lights (selectable) it brightens up (?) so you can see what you're doing. This one doesn't seem to have any in the scene tab to select. And the sky dome is defaulted to night. I forgot to say that when I select something and double-click a preset a dialog box pops up for half a second... not long enough to read what it says. :-)

Are you rendering? Depending on your Draw Settings the Iray preview may not show emissive surfaces, which I should the TV at least is.

Perry tends to use H.Mats for his lighting which is done via Iray so there are no physical "lights" in the scene but the material zones on the different items are set up to be light sources. To go from Day to Night you will need to turn all the lights on and then apply one of his Night render settings and then do the opposite for Daytime.

    Hope this helps!
