Help aligning sleeve tattoo - Gen3/8 female

I'm having a lot of trouble aligning a tattoo onto the texture for Gen 3/8 female.

With the Gen 2 female, the shoulder was part of the arm surface, but with Gen 3/8 the shoulder is part of the torso, and also across two areas that mirror each other (sort-of)

Here is what the torso textures look like (Gen 3/8 on left, Gen 2 on right)

The arms arn't much of an issue, except for trying to get them to line up with the torso on Gen 3/8

As a result I have had to resort to altering the position of the tattoo pixel by pixel on photoshop and reviewing it after each move, which is VERY time consuming.

This is the closest I can seem to get it. (Not sure if the back part of the shoulder stretches the image?)

Is there an easier way that I am missing? Is it possible to change the UV set to include the part of the shoulder? I want to be able to place a single layer onto the texture without having to cut it up, resize and align for each part.

I thought I saw a character in the Daz store which included a full sleeve tattoo, but not sure if that will help with placement.

I have also tried using the Decal Node feature, but that does not allow the tattoo to move with the limbs.

Please help

Well one can make new uvsets but I wouldn't say that's easier! One cannot give them new surfaces so there would be a compounding problem then for the rest of the textures. Painting over seams is easier if using a 3D paint program.

I put together a couple of templates for G3F for you. They have the coloured seam border which may or not help guide. If in your image editor you draw the colours up a little into the uv space, then load those to the figure, you'll see where you want the decal going.

Also some use L.I.E. to put decals on geoshells for the figures, that might be worth exploring.

Is the tattoo a jpg or a png file? If it's a PNG you could use the Layered Image Editor to place it on the torso and arm individually and use the movement/scaling dials in the LIE to fit it.

I did find a tutorial from L'Adair on using the Map Transfer in studio to go from Genesis 3 to 8 you should be able to just swap in Genesis 2 for the Genesis 3 references and be good.

There are also a couple of products from Cayman Studios in the store that will automatically transfer the Genesis 2 skins to Genesis 8 if you don't want to go through a ton of work:
Legacy UVs for Genesis 8: Genesis 2 Female
Legacy UVs for Genesis 8: Victoria 6

As a side note I do own most of Cayman's UV transfer sets and they are all really well done.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you. I will have a look at all of this and see if I can get something to work.

Did you manage to find the best way of aligning a shoulder tattoo? I'm trying to do one now and you're right. The strange mapping at the deltoid is making it so difficult to align a tattoo that is directly in the deltoid.
